When do travellers actually hop on in 2025? The booking window keeps shrinking, with same-day travel now firmly the norm.
The “right now” ride won 2025. 73% of tickets were used the same day they were purchased, up from 66% in 2024. For the shrinking minority who book in advance, the average lead time fell to just 2.7 days. Three-year trend: 4.2 days (2023) → 3.5 days (2024) → 2.7 days (2025).
Once riders board, they ride harder. Time-based ticket holders averaged 2.35 buses in 2025 (up from 2.25), with activity peaking between 11am and 3pm. Saturdays carry 16.3% of weekly scans — slightly down from 17% in 2024 but still the busiest day for staffing decisions.
